Siga Siga Capture Bridge Privacy Policy

Siga Siga Capture Bridge is a browser extension developed as part of the Siga Siga Publisher system. It allows a user to collect comments and replies from a Facebook post that the user explicitly chooses to capture and send that discussion to the user’s configured Social Harvest workspace for later review.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Capture Bridge processes and how that information is used.

Information processed by Capture Bridge
When the user explicitly chooses to capture a Facebook post, Capture Bridge may process information contained in that post and its discussion, including:

Facebook commenter names comment and reply text
Facebook post and comment identifiers
links associated with the post or comments
timestamps
parent/reply relationships
reaction and reply-count metadata
other information necessary to reconstruct the selected discussion

The extension may also store configuration information needed to operate the service, including:

the selected Social Harvest environment
the Bridge authentication key
temporary capture state
information required to identify and complete the user-requested capture job

How the information is used
Capture Bridge processes this information only to perform its single purpose:
collecting a Facebook discussion explicitly selected by the user and delivering that discussion to the user’s configured Siga Siga Social Harvest workspace for review and curation.

The information is not used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.

Local storage
Capture Bridge may temporarily store captured discussion data and configuration information in the browser’s local extension storage.
Local storage is used to:
complete a capture operation
recover from an interrupted capture
remember the user’s Social Harvest connection
retry delivery if necessary
The extension does not maintain a general history of websites visited by the user.

Social Harvest delivery
After a capture is completed, the collected discussion is sent over HTTPS to the Social Harvest site configured by the user.
The Social Harvest destination may retain the captured discussion so that the user can review, associate, curate, and commit it later.
Capture Bridge does not automatically publish captured comments or discussions.

Authentication information
Capture Bridge stores a Bridge authentication key supplied by the user.
The Bridge key is used only to authenticate delivery of captured discussions to the configured Social Harvest destination.
Capture Bridge does not collect or store the user’s Facebook password or WordPress password.

Website permissions
Capture Bridge requires access to Facebook pages in order to collect the discussion from a post that the user explicitly chooses to capture.
It also requires access to the configured Social Harvest site in order to verify the connection and deliver the captured discussion.
These permissions are used only for the extension’s stated capture and delivery functionality.
Data sharing and sale

We do not sell user data.
Capture Bridge does not transfer collected information to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.
Captured information is transmitted only as necessary to perform the extension’s stated function, including delivery to the Social Harvest destination configured by the user.

Remote code
Capture Bridge does not download or execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly code.
The executable code used by the extension is included with the extension package.
Data retention
Capture data may remain temporarily in the browser while a capture or delivery operation is in progress or available for recovery.
Once delivered to Social Harvest, retention of the saved harvest is managed by the Social Harvest system.
Users may remove captured material from their own Social Harvest installation according to the controls provided there.

Security
Capture Bridge uses HTTPS when communicating with the configured Social Harvest site and uses a dedicated Bridge authentication key for delivery.
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect captured information, but no method of electronic storage or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

User control
Capture Bridge captures a Facebook discussion only after the user explicitly initiates a capture.
The extension does not automatically monitor a user’s general browsing activity or collect every Facebook page the user visits.
Users may disable or remove the extension at any time using their browser’s extension controls.

Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Capture Bridge evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
